Hi, I'm Khalid
Backend engineer building agentic AI features at Lucidya.
01About
I'm a backend engineer at Lucidya, currently working on the agentic AI team building features on top of large language models. I studied Information Systems at King Abdulaziz University, and got my start writing backend code as an intern at EdfaPay before moving to Lucidya, first as an intern and now full-time.
Outside of work I've spent a lot of time in Saudi Arabia's developer community — leading Google Developers Student Clubs at KAU, running Postman's first Student Leader chapter in the Gulf, competing in the Saudi Collegiate Programming Contest, and co-founding Barmajon, a nonprofit I still help run. When I'm not writing code I'm usually gaming, building LEGO sets, at a community event, traveling, or — every once in a while — jumping out of a plane.

Software Engineer — Lucidya
These days I'm on Lucidya's agentic AI team, which mostly means figuring out how to make LLM-driven features actually reliable in production, not just impressive in a demo. Before that I spent a good stretch wiring up our Snapchat, TikTok, and Twitter integrations end to end — OAuth, onboarding, the whole pipeline that keeps content and account metrics flowing in and comes out the other side as engagement and growth analytics people actually look at. I also built a generic Elasticsearch ingestion service that made onboarding a new index a config change instead of a new deploy, which ended up around 90% faster than the Postgres path it replaced for text search.
Technical Intern — Lucidya
Started as an intern evaluating whether we should build custom domain support in-house or lean on Cloudflare's Custom Hostnames — ran the proof-of-concepts, talked to the people who'd actually use it, and ended up shipping the real thing: FastAPI and Rails on the backend, React up front, Cloudflare's API doing the SSL heavy lifting underneath.
Backend Developer — EdfaPay
Moved from intern to part-time backend work here, mostly living in compliance and analytics — an internal auditing system that tracks user actions across the dashboard, and the APIs and SQL underneath the transaction-analytics widgets the frontend team built on top of.
Backend Development Intern — EdfaPay
My first real backend job — a short, intense internship building an Apple Pay checkout microservice. Small scope, but it's where I actually learned what shipping payment code that can't afford to be wrong feels like.
